Marketing Outreach Design (MOD) Team

We make you look good!  The Design Team consists of  student graphic designers. We use our artistic talent and our knowledge of graphic design computer software to make flyers, posters, banners, invitations, handbills and many other exciting materials to help your program be successful.

The Services of the Design Team are Provided for Free to:


  • Highline College ASHC recognized student clubs
  • Student activities fee funded programs  
  • Phi Theta Kappa
  • Student Government

Note:  Depending on the project requested by a student organization, there may be a charge for printing or other materials. 

If you have a project you would like the designers to help you with, please complete the Design Ticket that you may obtain from the front desk in the Center for Leadership and Service office. For more information, contact Jade Chan at or (206) 878-3710 x3901.


Steps for Submitting Design Ticket

  1. Confirm all logistics for your meeting or event

    • Location

    • Time and date

    • Type of event (weekly meetings, club social, etc.)

    • Theme or colors (Carnival theme, global, theme of blue and gold, etc.)

    • Main contact information

    • Type of design materials needed (flyers, handbill, etc.)

    • Deadline of when you want to pickup the design materials

  2. Fill out the Design Ticket and submit at least 15 days before your desired pickup date

  3. Submit your Design Ticket to your Club Advsior or a Community Leadership Consultant. Your Design must be approved & verified with a signature.

  4. If you’re a club, submit the form to club inbox

  5. If you’re not a club but part of student funded program, submit the form to Jade Chan, the Programming and Promotions Leadership Advisor in person or drop it in her inbox, Bldg. 8, 3rd floor

  6. E-mail the electronic version  of your text to go into the design materials  to  (type it in as the body of e-mail or attach in word document file)

  7. Within 2 weeks, one of our designers will contact you for reviewing the progress of their work

  8. Confirm details and proofread their work

  9. Fill out the client feedback form

  • We need minimum of 2 weeks for your design to be completed and usually need more time than 2 weeks to process. So please plan ahead while you’re preparing for your materials.

  • Your request will not be processed until you e-mail your text in electronic format to .

  • If your order requires more than two types of materials (e.g. handbill, flyers, logo), please fill out a separate project request for additional 2 weeks of work time. 

  • Please plan additional 1 week of production if requesting for lamination service. We typically recommend that you consider alternative options before looking into lamination as they are not eco-friendly.

  • If you are an advisor, please help the student with planning out logistics to mentor and coach them on planning skills and navigating the resources.


How to Join the Design Team

Design Team applications for the next school year are typically available spring quarter.  For more information, contact Iesha Valencia, or call (206) 592-3918.

The Center for Leadership and Service Design Team is an outstanding opportunity to get real-life experience in a graphic design agency environment and to work on-campus while completing your education.  The graphic designers each work 15 hours per week during the academic year.  During the summer student designers participate in a comprehensive training program (August-September, 20-30 hours per week).
