“Despite this being the first time we, the Art and Design Club, hosted an art contest here at Highline, the turnout was rather good. We had stations that featured a different medium of art (whether it be clay, paints, or markers) and had attendees choose which medium they would like their art piece to be. When everyone was finished with their art piece, we held a vote and attendees selected their favorite art piece from each medium, and the one with the most votes won prizes. There were 2 prizes total: a fine liner set, a coloring book, and a watercolor set.
The aim of this event was to provide a low stakes fun competition to students who might want to unwind after their classes. We had achieved that, and for our first major event of the year I would say that it was very successful.” -Arts & Design Club
